Mario Trimarchi
Mario Trimarchi was born in Messina. He is currently living and working in Milan. In the Nineties, he was the director of the Design Master at the Domus Academy and then the director of DDA, joint venture of Domus Academy and Mitsubishi. In 1999, he founds Fragile, a corporate identity studio. For almost ten years, he has been working in the Olivetti Design Studio, designing personal computers and cash dispensers with Michele De Lucchi. He underlined the domestic aspect of technological innovation designing concept design and products for Philips, Siemens e Matsushita Denku. From 2005 to 2015, he has been teaching Corporate Identity at the University of Genoa. In 2013, he taught in the Brand Design Course at the Master’s degree in Product Design at the Naba University in Milan. Since 2016, he has been Design Advisor for Korea Craft & Design Foundation. With certain continuity, he has been designing for Alessi. In 2014, he designs the coffee maker Ossidiana and wins the XXIV Compasso d’Oro ADI Award, the Red Dot Award, the International Design Award Silver and the DfA-Quality Design for All. Between 2015 and 2016, he has been self-producing the collections Lost Items and Strawberry Fields Forever. In 2017, he presents the sculpture tap Swan for Hansa and Alessi. He also designs a collection of printed fabrics for a capsule collection in Orange Fiber for Salvatore Ferragamo.
